CJI first developed training materials in 1990 to meet the need for a comprehensive victim-offender mediation training program. The resulting manuals and videotape have been purchased by programs operating across Canada and internationally. In 1995, the training manuals were revised and expanded, and have recently (2012)undergone further revision. Re-titled Inviting Dialogue: Restorative Justice & Victim Offender Mediation, this manual continues to be the most extensive victim-offender mediation training material available in North America.
CJI has also developed another set of materials based on its experience with the Educating for Peacebuilding project in the Langley School District. Conversation Peace offers a unique approach to secondary school conflict that is restorative and promotes social responsibility. An additional publication entitled Talking Peace is now available for elementary schools. Both can be ordered from the Langley School District Publications website.
